The Material
A Study in Restraint.
The Mayfair is cut from a single piece of full-grain Italian calf leather, selected for the evenness of its surface and the depth of its natural colour. The penny strap is hand-stitched using a traditional moccasin seam, a technique that requires no adhesive and creates a bond that strengthens with wear.
The Making
Blake Stitched for Elegance.
The Mayfair is constructed using the Blake stitch method, in which a single thread passes through the insole, upper and outsole in one operation. This creates a slimmer, more elegant profile than a Goodyear welt, making it the preferred construction for a refined loafer. The sole edge is hand-burnished to a smooth finish.
