Frame constructed from a single piece of full-grain calf leather. Gussets hand-stitched and reinforced at stress points. Hardware individually set and tested.

Cleaning
Wipe with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Do not use household cleaners or solvents.
Conditioning
Apply a specialist leather cream every 3 to 6 months using a soft cloth.
Storage
Store stuffed with tissue paper to maintain shape. Keep in the dust bag provided.
Water Exposure
Avoid prolonged exposure to rain. If wet, allow to dry naturally away from heat.
The brass hardware will develop a natural patina with use. This can be maintained with a brass polish if preferred.

The Aldgate is cut from full-grain Italian calf leather, selected for the density of its grain and its resistance to wear. At 1.6mm, it is the heaviest leather in the ORVANE collection — chosen specifically for a bag that will be carried daily for decades.
The Making
Structured from the Inside.
The Aldgate frame is constructed from a single piece of full-grain calf leather, reinforced at the base with a leather board insert. Gussets are hand-stitched and reinforced at every stress point. The combination lock clasp is individually set and tested before the bag leaves the atelier.
